Getting Started

The biggest beginner insight is that resources are cards. Every brick, weapon, and crystal you earn is a future play, so cards that boost your builders, soldiers, or mages pay for themselves many times over. In your first matches, play the economy cards early and the flashy attack cards later. Also learn to discard without grief — dumping a card you can't afford is not a failure, it's the correct move roughly a third of the time.

• Attack the Economy, Not the Wall — Cards that kill enemy builders or soldiers starve every future turn, while wall damage only buys time
• Hold Answers, Not Just Threats — Keeping one defensive card in hand lets you survive the big swing you know is coming
• Count the Race — Compare your castle growth per turn against your opponent's damage per turn to see whose clock wins
• Discard Aggressively — A dead card in hand is a card you didn't draw; cycle relentlessly
• Bluff the Collapse — Deliberately running your wall low can bait an opponent into over-committing to attack

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Hoarding Cards — An unplayed hand earns nothing; if you can't use it, bin it
• Overbuilding the Wall — The wall protects the castle, but walls alone have never won a siege
• Ignoring Resource Denial — Losing recruits feels small on turn three and catastrophic on turn ten
• Chasing Both Win Conditions — Split focus usually means achieving neither; commit by mid-game
• Forgetting the Discard Pile Exists — New players stall for turns waiting for perfect draws instead of cycling
